15 апреля организации Центр антикоррупционных исследований и инициатив «Трансперенси Интернешнл - Р» и Правозащитный Центр «Мемориал» получили официальный ответ от Корпорации Майкрософт-Россия на свое обращение, в котором выражали обеспокоенность случаями участия компании в непрозрачных схемах, а также громких делах преследования гражданских активистов и правозащитников. Несмотря на то, что обращение было отправлено руководству корпорации в США, ответ поступил из правового отдела российского отделения компании. 

Юрист по защите интеллектуальной собственности Майкрософт-Россия Александр Страх подчеркивает, что все действия представителей правообладателя в России согласовываются с руководством, поэтому участие в коррупционных схемах от имени Майкрософт исключено и, возможно, речь идет о самозванцах. В отношении позиции корпорации по политически мотивированным уголовным делам в отношении независимой прессы и общественных организаций А. Страх указал только на то, что дело «Новой газеты» и Байкальской экологической волны было начато не Майкрософт, но властями России. Юристы корпорации участвуют в этих делах только «чтобы оказать содействие в оценке доказательств и подсчёте ущерба». В ответном письме нет никаких комментариев относительно уголовного дела против руководителя общественной организации «ЭТнИКА», которое упоминалось в письме в одном ряду с проблемами «Новой газеты» и «БЭВ».

Однако заместитель директора Центра «Транспаренси Интернешнл — Р» Иван Ниненко сообщил нам, что в ходе встречи с Майкрософт-Россия, где обсуждались возможности противодействия коррупции в деятельности представителей корпорации в регионах России, Александр Страх сообщил, что и в деле против Анастасии Денисовой участие Майкрософт ограничивается лишь оценкой доказательств и подсчете ущерба. Он исключил возможность подачи гражданского иска, о котором письменно заявлял представитель корпорации В.С. Ивуть. Так же юристу были переданы документы относительно причастности представителей корпорации к инициированию уголовного дела и вопросы относительно правильности расчета стоимости программ. А. Страх обещал уточнить эти моменты.

Таким образом, остается пока неизвестным, какие еще действия представителя компании Майкрософт в Южном Федеральном округе расходятся с мнением руководства Майкрософт-Россия по делу против общественной организации «ЭТнИКА».
